On Tuesday, March 19, State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gheorghita Vlad, participated in the 20th Ukraine Defence Contact Group Meeting held at the Ramstein Airbase, Germany.

The goal of the meeting was to assess the progresses made after the previous reunions, to discuss current topics and evaluations with regard to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, as well as the status of the support provided by the participating countries.

In his speech, State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations emphasized the support Romania had been providing to Ukraine since the beginning of the war, including through our country's participation in the EU's extended efforts regarding the training of the Ukrainian soldiers within EUMAM UA and INTERFLEX Mission, led by Great Britain. The importance of the European F-16 Training Center from Romania in the training process of the Romanian and Ukrainian soldiers was also was emphasized.

To conclude, the Romanian dignitary mentioned the importance of the continuous support provided to Ukraine at international level, in the extremely trobled current security context.
