Western Principles on Military Career Management seminar occurred between March 14 and 17, 05 at the Palace of the National Military Cercle in Bucharest with participation by the representatives of the Ministry of National Defence, Foreign Intelligence Service, Romanian Intelligence Service and the representatives of the Armed Forces from the Republic of Moldovia.

The activity was organized by the Human Resources Management Directorate of the Ministry of National Defence together with the Center for Civil-Military Relations from the Naval Post Graduate School and under the sponsorship of the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest.

The debates were focused on the organization of the activity of personnel, identification of the personnel operation needs, list of mission essential tasks, and the career management system. A case study on generating and deploying a force in a theater of operations outside the national territory was also shown to the participants.

The themes represented the elements of real support in developing a modern career management oriented towards the identification of the armed forces operational needs for making compatible the human resources management of the Romanian armed forces with those armed forces of North Atlantic Alliance members.
