BLACKSEA PARTNERSHIP 2005''INTERNATIONAL MARITIME EXERCISE

Between April 2 and 10, 05 the maritime sweeper Lieutenant Dimitire Nicolescu participates in the BLACK SEA 2005 maritime exercise organized by the Turkish Navy in the territorial sea and the southern international waters of the Black Sea.

The aim is to increase interoperability between the navies of the nations participating, for humanitarian assistance operations and evacuation of non combatants, promotion of the fight against terrorism, embargo and maritime interdiction operations.

The mission consists in visits to Istanbul and Eregli ports in Turkey. Other ships participating are: Turgutreis(Turkey), Bodry (Bulgaria), Lutsh (Ukraine) and Kutaisi (Georgia). The maritime sweeper Lieutenant Dimitrie Nicolescu is commanded by Lieutenant Commander Emanuel Paraschiv with 70 sailors on board.

BLACKSEA PARTNERSHIP is a regional exercise organized yearly by Turkey, with participation by the navies of the Black Sea states, for common training and strengthening of the cooperation for security and stability in the area.
