Romanian Soldiers actions in Supporting the Iraqi Population

Within the civil-military cooperation actions (CIMIC) the 2nd Infantry Battalion Calugareni together with the US and the Italian soldiers participating in the Multinational Force in Iraq at the end of the last week gave food, water, toys and drugs to the children at a primary school in Al Sayd Dakheel.

Captain Carol Florea, PR officer stated that the materials, worth USD 4,000, were donated by the Italian Red Cross and the Campaign Hospital from Mittica camp.

On this occasion, a multinational team including Captain doctor Adrian Hrihor, the chief doctor of the Battalion, granted medical assistance to the people.

At the end of the week in Suqash Shuyuk, the Romanian and Italian soldiers distributed humanitarian materials consisting of bedclothes, medical equipment, and sanitary installations at the city hospital and birotics and electronics to the local Council in the same location.

The cooperation between the Multinational Force soldiers and the governmental and NGOs in these kind of actions, contributes to ensuring a stable environment of security adequate to the reconstruction of the infrastructure in the area of responsibility.
