George Cristian Maior, State Secretary and chief of Department for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Defense Policy received Major-General ret. Amos Yaront, general director of Israeli Ministry of Defense Friday May 23, 2003, at the Romanian Ministry of National Defense.

During the discussions, State Secretary Maior reaffirmed the wish of the Ministry of National Defense to develop the bilateral relations between the two ministries increasing the political and military cooperation stressing on counter-terrorism and training of military personnel.

In the same time they reviewed the political-military priorities of the Romanian Ministry of National Defense for fulfilling the specific objectives established for Romania's integration within NATO and the evolution of the Armed Forces reform stressing on the desire to contribute to the strengthening of the Alliance.
