Friday, April 15, 05 during a patrol mission along the Baghdad-Basra communication way the patrol commanded by Lieutenant Smeureanu Catalin discovered seven projectiles of 120mm launcher about 50 meters from the oil pipe that traverses Iraq from North to South.

After the discovery of the unexploded ammunition, the Romanian soldiers marked the area and asked for the Italian specialized detachment that destroys ammunition.
It seems that the discovered projectiles came from an old depot of the former Iraqi armed forces.

Captain Carol Florea the PR officer of the 2nd Infantry Battalion said that this is the second time the Romanians discovered unexploded ammunition during their patrol missions in their area of responsibility.
