George Cristian Maior, State Secretary and chief of Department for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Defense Policy is heading a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense in official visit in Canada between May 26 and June 1, 2003.

The program of the visit consists in meetings at Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Royal Military College from Kingston(Ontario) and with other officials of the Canadian Government.

The discussions will be focused on the specific special objectives for Romania's integration within NATO, evolution of the reform within the Armed Forces, bilateral military cooperation after the Prague Summit, different aspects of policy of security in Central and South-Eastern Europe, Romania's participation to the counter-terrorism international campaign. The official visit paid by George Cristian Maior enlisted the bilateral very good relations between the two Ministries of National Defense and represents a significant moment for the increase of cooperation in defense industry between Romania and Canada.
