Early in the morning a C 130 Hercules, an AN 24 and an AN 26 loaded with water and food for the people affected by the floods in Moldova took off thus till 15.00 hours on the military airport in Bacau they unloaded 37,000 liters of mineral water and about five tons of bread.

At request of Vrancea Prefecture, a IAR 330 helicopter flew many times for transporting a hurt person from Taratu village and three ill persons from Campuri and Paltin in need of dialyze at Focsani hospital. The soldiers from Focsani are acting to rescue and evacuate the people from Vrancea county localities affected by floods and they transported food, matrices and blankets for the victims in Nanesti accommodated in Vulturul. In the same time the soldiers of the 15th Mechanized Territorial Brigade Iasi came to support the affected people from Iasi county, Batosani county and Neamt county.

The soldiers are acting also in the affected areas in Alba county, Olt county and Dolj county. The Mounting Troops succeeded to evacuate 64 persons from Runcu, Alba county and the Infantry personnel from Oltenia continue to transport the water by tank wagons in Gavanesti, Olt county and Motoci, Dolj county.

Minister of National Defence Teodor Atanasiu ordered that all the Romanian armed forces to be set at the authorities disposal for their intervention in the affected areas.
