Regina Maria Frigate arrives home

A ceremony due to the arrival of the military ship Regina Maria will occur Monday, July 25 at 11.00 hours in Constanta Military Harbor. This is the second of the two type 22 frigates purchased in 2003 according to the Agreement between the Romanian Government and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The first ship, Regele Ferdinand entered the Romanian Navy service in April 21 in the presence of the Chief of the Navy Staff, Rear Admiral Dr. Gheorghe Marin and important political and military personalities from Romania and UK with a military and religious ceremony occurred in Portsmouth, the British navy base.

Till now, the ship was a subject of regeneration and modernization process developed in parallel with the training program for the crew according to NATO standards.

The march home represented the first long time mission for the 200 sailors on board ( 16 officers, 76 foremen, 1 NCO and 107 contract enlisted personnel) .

Representatives of the MoND leadership, central and local authorities, the Orthodox Church and different NGOs are invited to participate in this ceremony.
A tour of the ship will be organized after the receiving ceremony.
