The second edition of the Scouts Summer Camp organized by the Public Relations Directorate in operation with Navy Staff , National Authority for Young People, Euro-Atlantic Association Manfred Worner and NATO House will be organized between August 6 and 16 at the Navy Academy Mircea cel Batran in Constanta.

Developed under the motto Be the best! the Camp aims to promote among the students at high schools the image of the Romanian Armed Forces and NATO, the spirit of competition, the spirit of team, and their sport quality.

The activities will have a military specific such as: presentation of the infantry armament, firings with air compressed armament, finding out of different boy scouting elements (itinerary of a river course, a building, a forest). The participants will accustom to the main elements of sailing training, orientation in terrain and survival in a special environment. They will also have sport and military activities (launching the grenade, military relay race) and will participate in the ceremony of the Day of the Romanian Navy and the ceremony of taking over the BLACKSEAFOR command.

The participants 48 pupils from Bucharest, Oradea, Sibiu, Roman, Saltina, Ploiesti, Suceava and Constanta have been selected in a national contest on line on the MoND website (www.mapn.ro/tabara) between February and June 2005.

The opening ceremony will occur Sunday, August 7 at 10.30 hours at the Navy Academy Mircea cel Batran in Constanta.
