Ships of the Romanian Navy will have firings with air defence missiles and the armament on board, and anti submarine torpedoes and bombs, between September 1 and 4, in Midia-Navodari maritime sector.

31 ships are participating to this exercise. Among them there are the frigates Regele Ferdinand, Regina Maria and Marasesti, corvettes, missile equipped ships, torpedo fast crafts, mine sweepers, mine layers, divers transport fast crafts and auxiliary ships.

The firings within LITORAL 2005 exercise aim the increase of interoperability and the evaluation of the operative capacity of the structures subordinated to the Navy Operative command.

The maritime sectors where the exercise will be developed took the necessary security measures.

Saturday, September 3, between 07.00 and 15.00 hours the Navy Staff will offer to the media representatives the possibility to make reports on board of the ships .
