Italian general joins the Red Scorpions in mission

Italian general Claudio Graziano, Commander of the Multinational Brigade of Kabul that closely cooperates with the 26th Infantry Battalion Neagoe Basarab, joined the Romanian troops in a patrol-reconnaissance mission in their area of responsibility.

The general decided to join the mission after he watched how it was prepared in practice in Julien Field, on a scale model of Kabul region, by Captain Marius Bumbac, commander of the company that subordinates the platoon assigned in the patrol mission.
'I want to go on this patrol mission with this particular squad because I have perfect confidence in the Red Scorpions, but also because I want to see with my own eyes the real situation in the field', said the official guest.

Graziano, accompanied by brigade staff members, paid a documentation visit to the Romanian troops who, between August-October, participate in the NATO-led operation to assist the elections in Afghanistan. The programme of the visit also included the daily briefing by the 26th Infantry Battalion Commander, LTC Gabriel Toma, the presentation of the battalion, of the facilities available in the Romanian camp, of the military equipment.
The Multinational Brigade Commander thanked LTC Toma for the warm feelings shown to the guests throughout their visit, for the seriousness shown by the Red Scorpions in their mission in Afghanistan.
