During a ceremony that took place today at MoD HQ, the Minister of National Defence, Teodor Atanasiu, and the Chief of the General Staff, General Dr. Eugen Badalan, handed over medals and decorations to military personnel who had distinguished themselves during international missions, in the theaters of operations in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan during 2004 and 2005.

The high distinctions were awarded by presidential decree, to 11 officers, WOs and NCOs.

Among those decorated, were Sergeant Majors Gabriel-Cristian Hanganu and Adrian Dogaru from of the 282nd Mechanized Brigade, wounded during a patrol mission in Afghanistan, in April this year.
