The Chief of Air Force Staff, Lieutenant General Gheorghe Catrina, will take part in the Conference of NATO Air Force Commanders, held in Izmir, Turkey, between October 1 to 5.

General Catrina will have talks with his counterparts on issues such as: NATO procedures- national legislation harmonization: integration of the new members in the NATO Operational Commands' areas of responsibility; air police organisation and functioning in the Alliance's new member countries; Center of Air Power Competence's organization and support.

Other issues to be dealt with are the lessons learned during the organisation of the NATO Reaction Force, the training exercises and the joint exercises with NATO Operational Commands.
