Ion Mircea Plangu, State Secretary and chief of Department for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Defence Policy participated October 24, in NATO Ukraine Reunion, in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The official talks mainly focused on enhancing the NATO-Ukraine Increased Dialogue, initiated in April 2005. In the same time, the Reunion offered the opportunity of an exchange of opinions on the reform of the Ukrainian armed forces and the national security system. They also referred the experience the ex partner states gained in the process of joining NATO.

During the talks, State Secretary Ion Mircea Plangu had a short bilateral meeting with the Ukrainian Defence minister, Anatoliy Grytsenko.

At the end of Reunion they signed a letter of intention for the Program of Professional Development in Defence area supported by the allied countries.
