General James L. Jones, Supreme Allied Commander, Europe pays an official visit in Romania between November 28 and 29 invited by Chief of Romanian General Staff, General Dr. Eugen Badalan.

The high US guest will be received by the President of Romania, Traian Basescu and will have official talks with the minister of National Defence, Teodor Atanasiu and General Badalan.

The talks at the Ministry of National Defence HQ will be focused on NATO transformation, stages of reform and restructure of the Romanian Armed Forces and aspects of the participation within the international operations.

Monday, November 28, at 15.30 hours General Jones will receive the honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa at Carol I National Defence University and this occasion he will lecture on Transformation of the North Atlantic Alliance and Its Aims within the Geo-Strategic Environment.

The US guest will be the first receiving the title granted by the Superior School of War since the establishment in 1889.
