Soldiers from the 21st Mountain Troops Battalion, Predeal and the 96th Engineer Battalion, Bucharest will participate starting Sunday, January 8, 2006 in motor and train traffic re-habilitation operations in Valea Oltului (Olt Valley).

The Mountain Troops and the Engineers will act with teams of mountaineers and pyrotechnists in order to clean the mountainside from rocks where the stopping is. All the soldiers acting in this area are professional soldiers with expertise gained in the theaters of international operations.

More, additional forces and means of the 21st Mountain Troops Battalion are ready to intervene when necessary.

The military intervention in Valea Oltului is developed at request of the President of Romania, Traian Basescu.
