Appointment at the Ministry of National Defence

Major General Constantin Croitoru was appointed starting January 18, 2006 as General Director of the General Directorate of Information of Defence by decision of the Prime Ministre of Romania, Calin Popescu Tariceanu at the suggestion of the Minister of National Defence, Teodor Atanasiu.

Born in May 5, 1952 in Ditesti, Prahova County, General Constantin Croitoru graduated the Military School of Air Officers (1974), the Military Academy (1983) and the National College of Defence (2001).

During his military career he fulfilled different positions: pilot, commander of aviation-hunting, deputy chief of doctrine and training office at the Air Staff, chief of staff of the 1st Air Division Siret, commander of the 90th Air Transport Base, commander of the 1st Air Division, commander of the Principal Air Operational Command, chief of Directorate of Operations of the General Staff. Starting July 1, 2005, Major General Constantin Croitoru was appointed deputy director of the General Staff.
