A patrol of the 280th Infantry Battalion participating in Antica Babilonia operation in Iraq discovered 50 elements of artillery ammunition of different caliber, at about 20 kilometers North-East of Tallil airport during the mission in their area of responsibility.

Isolating the area the Romanians asked the support of the specialized teams from Sassari Italian Brigade. The Engineers neutralized, rise and destroyed the ammunition in state of work.

The 280th Infantry Battalion soldiers from Focsani participated between January and July in the efforts of stabilization and reconstruction of Iraq within the Multinational Force. The Romanians from Focsani also participated in international missions in Kosovo (2002-03) and Afghanistan (2004).
