Minister of National Defense in official visit in Prague


Evolutions on the European Policy of Security and Defense, NATO transformation, environment of security in the Western Balkans and the enlarged region of the Black Sea are the main themes of debates during the visit Teodor Atanasiu, minister of National Defense will pay in the Czech Republic between February 28 and March 2, invited by his counterpart, Karel Kuhnl.

The official talks will approach the aspects of the military bilateral cooperation and the two countries participation in operations of political authorities stabilization and consolidation in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The agenda of the visit will also comprise the meetings with the high officials from the Senate and Chamber of Deputies, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the governor of South Moravia region.

Minister Atanasiu will handle in the ceremony organized at the Regional Council South Moravia the decorations granted by the President of Romania, Traian Basescu, to the officials from Brno local administration as sign of gratitude for their contribution in building the Memorial dedicated to the Romanian soldiers that sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the ex Czechoslovakia in the World War II.

The Romanian delegation headed by Teodor Atanasiu will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Romanian Soldiers in the Central Graveyard in Brno.
