The Agreement between the Ministry of National Defense of Romania and the Ministry of Defense of the State of Israel on military cooperation signed in Bucharest, March 9, 2006 do not comprise stipulations on the Israeli air forces stationing in Romania.

The document, among others, stipulates the cooperation between the parts in common training and visits of military ships and planes.

As the Israeli air forces station in Romania, it is necessary a treaty to be signed at Governmental/ state level on the status of forces; the document should be ratified by the Romanian Parliament. The Agreement signed yesterday, March 9, in Bucharest is an agreement between the Ministries of Defense of the two countries and will be approved through a decision of the Government of Romania; this type of document can not stipulate the issues on the status of forces, this issue being of the Governmental competence.
