Romanian soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan

Two Romanian soldiers lost their lives and a third one was injured following an incident which took place on Saturday, May 7th, at 10.45 am, nearby Kandahar, while training the Afghan police members.

The soldiers who fell on duty will be promoted post-mortem

The Minister of National Defence, Mihnea Motoc, will promote to Second Lieutenant (postmortem) Sergeant First Class Dumitrescu Iulian and Sergeant Vizireanu Adrian who lost their lives while performing a mission in the theater of operations from Afghanistan.

The commander of the special operation forces detachment from Afghanistan sent this morning the first findings of the board who has been investigating the cause of death of the two Romanian soldiers and the injuring of the third one in Afghanistan.
