Second Lieutenant (posthumous) - Claudiu-Constantin Ştefan Vulpoiu

The soldier died in Afghanistan during a patrol mission on route A1, following a suicide attack with a vehicle full of explosives that collided with the MRAP vehicle he was in.
2nd Lt. (posthumous) Claudiu Constantin Vulpoiu was 35 years old, was married and had one child. He has been working with the defence ministry since 2001 and participated in six other missions in Afghanistan and iraq.
He was awarded the national order “Steaua României” rank of knight, with war insignia, for military men.
