The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Duša, participated in the school year opening ceremony from "Dimitrie Cantemir" Military High-school
The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Duša, participated on Monday, September 16th, in the school year opening ceremony from "Dimitrie Cantemir" Military High-school, Breaza.
Today`s ceremony was an emotional moment mainly for the 120 students from the 9th grade, because it`s their first contact with the military rigorousness: "The expression on your faces tell me that you are pleased with the institution and the job you chose ", the defence minister told the freshers.
The defence minister expressed to the audience his conviction that the children choose a military career with joy and pleasure because they know that the Romanian Armed Force is one of the most important institutions of the Romanian state from at least two reasons. First of all, the armed force is a rigorous, important and appreciated institution, not only at domestic level but also at international one, too. The second reason is the quality of the educational system adopted by the military institutions. "You came in a special institution, a college with tradition, which has been functioning for more than 100 years and is bearing the name of a well-known Romanian writer and ruler, Dimitrie Cantemir. You will carry on the message of this college you are currently attending", Mircea Duša mentioned concluding his speech.
Besides the 454 students and teachers attending the ceremony, friends and relatives of the students, active-duty and reserve military personnel, local administration officials and college graduates were also present at this festivity.
