Plutonier Adjutant Tiberiu-Augustin Nicolau is the NCO Counselor to the chief of Romanian General Staff since January 2005.

This highest NCOs and WOs position exists in NATO members and serves to the personal information of the chief of General Staff on soldier’s training and quality of life. The counselor devotes the majority of his time to travelling throughout the military units for talking to the soldiers, observing the training and participating to counsels and commissions that make decisions for improving the life of militaries and their families.

Tiberiu-Augustin Nicolau was born in Iasi, August 13, 1966 and between 1984-86 attended the NCO Military School “Basarab I” in Pitesti. In 1999 graduated Faculty of Managerial and Technologic Engineering in Iasi and the Leadership and War Fighting Course in Pitesti and the Staff NCO Course in Galati. In 2000-01 for seven months he attended the Course for counselors within the US Army Academy.

Throughout his career, NCO Nicolau served in many leadership positions from squad leader and commander of tank up to that of NCO counselor to the chief of General Staff. He also was trainer during the Course of NCO Counselors to the commander, organized and developed in Pitesti with the US Army assistance.
