On Monday, August 24, at 10:37 PM, the MoND's radar surveillance system detected two aerial targets 25 km northwest of Snake Island, moving towards the Romanian border.
Two Spanish Air and Space Force F-18 aircraft, deployed at 57th Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, were scrambled to monitor the situation.
The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the activation of public alert measures for the northern part of Tulcea County. A RO-Alert message was issued at 10:55 PM.
At 10:58 PM, the radar contacts disappeared, and explosions were reported on the Ukrainian side.
No incursions into national airspace were detected.
