The Navy Scientific Research Center (NSCR) will celebrate its anniversary by the international symposium on “40 Years of Naval Scientific Research”, to be held at Constanta on September 7.

Personalities from France, Italy and Romania, as well as the scientific manager of NATO Underwater Research Center, Dr. Douglas Todoroff, have confirmed their participation. Papers and studies on the strategy of military technology research, new NATO technology and research, underwater acoustic measurements, control of military products exports and researches will be presented during this scientific event.

The achievements of the Navy Scientific Research Center (NSRC) will also be shown at the symposium, referring to naval architecture, onboard and underwater equipment and systems, physical fields, artillery systems, ammunition and electronic countermeasures.

In its 40-year long activity, the NSRC became known for its projects, such as: Navy radio-communications system modernisation, military ship construction and modernisation, production of hydro-acoustic prognosis and mine swiping equipment, as well as the corvette-type variable-step helix.

The NSRC is made up of two sections: one for integrated naval systems, physical fields, naval weapons and systems, and a testing laboratory. In 1998, the NSRC became an integral part of the Agency of Military Equipment and Technology Research, subordinated to the Department of Armaments.
