Minister of National Defence attending the graduation ceremony of Class 117 "Constantin Brâncoveanu - 300", "Carol I" National Defence University
Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dușa, participated in the graduation ceremony of Class 117 "Constantin Brâncoveanu - 300" of “Carol I” National Defence University (NDU), on Thursday, July 17, at the institution headquarters.
On this occasion, Defence Minister Dușa congratulated the graduates and offered a stiletto to the chief of class of Command and Staff Faculty’s Master’s Degree Course, as a token of appreciation of the outstanding results.
Also, at the defence minister’s proposal, the Combat Colors of the higher military educational institution was decorated with “Steaua României în grad de comandor” National Order for soldiers, with the peace mark, as a recognition of “Carol I” NDU’s activity in the 125 years since its establishment.
"I congratulate you-the graduates of class 117 of this prestigious higher military educational institution-and your teaching staff on your graduation and results obtained. You have the duty to honorably represent the Romanian Armed Forces’ values by being aware of our membership to the North-Atlantic Alliance and European Union structures and to bring a new value add and contribute to the creation of a professional armed force", Defence Minister Dușa told the audience.
The Minister of National Defence expressed his conviction that nowadays graduates will accomplish their future tasks with professionalism on grounds of the excellent education and training they have accumulated while studying at the NDU. "This is an important stage in fostering your military career which must help you achieve the commitments made in order to downsize and modernize the Romanian Armed Forces. Thus, we will be able to accomplish both the national missions and the common ones committed for with our partners from NATO and EU, especially in the current hot international context from Ukraine, Iraq and other areas" added minister Dușa.
In his speech, the Minister of National Defence appreciated the efforts made by the NDU leadership and its teaching staff in adapting the MoND’s academic activity to the NATO standards and to the European higher education system’s requirements by preserving, at the same time, the tradition of the Romanian military one.
