The Romanian Air Forces successfully conducted its evacuation mission from Afghanistan

On Friday, 20th August, the Romanian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft evacuated 18 citizens (14 Romanian citizens and 4 Bulgarian ones) from Kabul International Airport, under safety conditions.

Afterwards, the aircraft landed at Islamabad and took over the Romanian citizen evacuated in the morning of 20th August in order to be transported to the country. The first Romanian citizen evacuated the day before decided to leave from Islamabad with a civilian airline flight. The aircraft will head towards Romania from Islamabad.

The MoND is in permanent connection – within the Inter-institutional Crisis Cell – with the other structures responsible for the crisis management at national and international level, so that the evacuation, protection and transportation of the people take place in maximum safety conditions.
