On Sunday, September 17, the Russian forces continued their attacks against certain targets in Ukraine, at the proximity of the border with Romania.

The Ministry of National Defence monitored the aerial situation from its areas of responsibility in real time. As a result of the detection of the groups of drones heading towards the Ukrainian territory, MoND notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations on the establishment of aerial pre-alert measures, starting 22.55, for the northern area of Tulcea County -located in the vicinity -that could be potentially affected by the risks associated with this situation.

The MoND forces have enhanced their presence and continue to implement the necessary measures in areas where risks may still be manifested as a result of this situation.

The Ministry of National Defence firmly condemns these attacks conducted by the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian sites and civilian infrastructure elements. These attacks are unjustified and severely break international humanitarian rules.

MoND informs the Allied structures, in real time, about the situation generated by these attacks, maintaining permanent communication with them.
