Air Assault Operation within SWIFT RESPONSE 24 Exercise
Approximately 2,000 military paratroopers from France, Germany, Romania, Spain, the United States of America and the Netherlands will train during the sequences of Exercise SWIFT RESPONSE 24 (SR24) / DEFENDER 24 conducted in Romania. The Multinational Airborne Joint Forcible Entry Operation, which also includes the descending of the military equipment through air assault techniques, will be conducted over several days. The main sequence from Romania is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 12th, at the 71st “General Emanoil Ionescu” Air Base, in Câmpia Turzii.
This is the largest air assault operation conducted in Europe after World War II, similar sequences being also conducted in five other allied and partner states (Estonia, North Macedonia The Republic of Moldova, Poland and Sweden).
The forces participating in the exercise demonstrate the response capability and interoperability among structures as well as their commitment to collective peacekeeping. In Romania, SWIFT RESPONSE 24 is linked to the national exercise WING SPRING 24 / DACIA 24 and will involve the participation of “Grigore Bãlan” 81st Mechanized Brigade troops deployed to “Getica” National Combat Training Center in Cincu, Brașov County and Bogata Firing Range, Turda, Cluj County.

• Journalists interested in attending the event, conducted in the area of the 71st “General Emanoil Ionescu” Air Base, in Câmpia Turzii, on Sunday, May 12, are requested to submit their identification data (name, surname, series and number of the identity document, the media institution they represent, and their phone number), as well as the registration number of the transportation vehicle, by Saturday, May 11, 12:00, to email address: relatii.publice02565@forter.ro.
• We kindly ask you to make the live broadcasts with portable devices. The flight of civilian drones is restricted in this area.
• Media representatives will be expected on May 12th, between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., at the headquarters of the 71st General Emanoil Ionescu Air Base (2 Aviatorilor Street, Luna Locality).
