Defence Minister’s meeting with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Jordanian Armed Forces

Minister of National Defence, Angel Tîlvăr, had a meeting with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaity, on Monday, October 28th, at the MoND Headquarters.

The discussions focused on the status and prospects of bilateral defence cooperation relations in the context of the latest developments in the global security environment, the officials addressing the current situation in the Black Sea and Middle East regions.

The Romanian Defence Minister emphasized the important role of defence cooperation between the two states, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan being one of Romania's most important partners in the Middle East region.

In this context, the Romanian dignitary reiterated Romania's commitment to continue running the joint projects developed both at bilateral level and within the cooperation initiatives and programs, between NATO and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

At the end of the meeting, the two officials shared the need to continue bilateral defence cooperation within the established formats and to explore new areas of cooperation, that would increase the training level of the two countries’ armed forces.
