DACIAN FALL 2024 Exercise
On Wednesday, October 30th, The Chief of Defence Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, attended, at the Getica Joint National Training Center, in Cincu, the execution of some training sequences of the DACIAN FALL 2024 (DAFA24) Exercise.
Approximately 1,500 military personnel from Belgium, France, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and the United States of America participate simultaneously, in Cincu, Smârdan, Capu Midia and Bogata Firing Ranges in the DAFA24 training sequence conducted by the Headquarters Multinational Division Southeast, over October 14-31. The exercise aims at increasing the interoperability of structures in order to conduct joint military operations and practice integration of NATO forces and assets deployed on Romanian territory, at division level.
The Chief of Defence Staff stated that DAFA24 represents a preliminary stage of DACIAN SPRING 2025 Exercise, for which France will deploy to our country, for the first time, brigade-level forces and means. "Furthermore, next year is expected to be full of large-scale training events in allied format for the Romanian Armed Forces. Together with our allied colleagues, we will practice action plans and provide mutual support in order to be able to successfully deal with any type of military threat scenario", General Gheorghiță Vlad stated.

DAFA24 trained forces of the Headquarters Multinational Brigade Southeast, the French Rapid Reaction Brigade Headquarters (7th Armored Brigade), the French Brigade Forward Command Element, the NATO Battle Group Romania, the 52nd Mixed Artillery Regiment and the 83rd Tactic-Operative Missile Battalion. Also, IAR 330 Puma Socat helicopters and F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the 71st Air Base, respectively Spanish Air Force F-18 Hornet deployed to our country to conduct enhanced Air Policing Service, participated in the exercise. The exercise is part of the series of training events aimed at strengthening NATO's deterrence and defence posture on its eastern flank.
