Minister of National Defence, at the EU Foreign Affairs Council

Minister of National Defence, Radu Miruță, will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) Meeting, in the defence ministers’ format, which will take place on Tuesday, May 12^th, in Brussels.

 

The meeting, chaired by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will present assessments on existing threats at EU level, the military support provided to Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East, in the context of the recent developments in the war in Iran and its effects in the region, as well as the implications for the EU security and defence.

 

The Council will also discuss the European Union's defence preparedness, after an informal meeting with the President of the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe.

 

At the same time, a meeting of the European Defence Agency Steering Committee in the EU defence ministers’ format will take place before the start of the FAC meeting.
