On Monday, July 20, around 6:50 PM, the radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence detected a group of aerial targets approximately 23 kilometers northwest of the town of Vâlcove, as part of a drone attack on the civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania. 

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation measures to alert the population in the northern part of Tulcea County and a RO-Alert message was issued at 7:06 PM. 

Two Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft deployed to the 57th "Mihail Kogălniceanu" Air Base and two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft from the 86th Borcea Air Base conducting Air Policing Service scrambled at 19:09 and, respectively, 20:13, to monitor the air situation. 

No unauthorized incursions into the national airspace or cases of any aerial vehicle impacting the ground were reported. 

The air alert ceased at 22.25. 

The Ministry of National Defence continuously monitors the situation and provides real-time updates to the Allied structures regarding such events.
