On Monday morning, August 24, around 6:00 AM, the MoND radar surveillance system detected intermittent signals in the Republic of Moldova’s airspace, in the Cahul area. One of the signals subsequently appeared in Târgu Bujor area, Galați County.

 

Two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft from the 86th Air Base at Borcea and an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter were scrambled to monitor the situation.

 

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of public alert measures for the affected area. A RO-Alert message was issued at 6:12 AM.
