On Monday evening, August 31, at 11:30 PM, the MoND's radar surveillance system detected two aerial targets 24 km northeast of Vylkove, Ukraine, near the Romanian border.
Two Spanish Air and Space Force F-18 aircraft, currently performing Enhanced Air Policing Service at 57th Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, were scrambled at 11:43 PM to monitor the situation. Additionally, a Romanian Air Force IAR-330 PUMA SOCAT helicopter took off at 12:05 AM.
Following the National Military Command Center’s notification, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations issued a RO-Alert message for the northeastern part of Tulcea County at 11:56 PM.
The pilots reported explosions on the Ukrainian territory.
No incursions into the national airspace were reported.
The air alert ceased at 1:15 AM.
