On Saturday, September 5, at 11:40 PM, the MoND’s radar surveillance system detected a group of aerial targets moving towards the river border with Ukraine.
The air defence systems were placed on alert; two Spanish Air and Space Force F-18 aircraft and a Romanian Air Force IAR 330 Puma SOCAT helicopter were ready to scramble.
The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of public alert measures for the northern part of Tulcea County. A RO-Alert message was issued at 12:10 AM.
No incursions into the national airspace were reported.
The air alert ceased at 12.42 P.M.
