On Thursday morning, September 24, the radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence detected an aerial target moving within the Ukrainian territory, near the border with Romania, in the north of Botoșani County.

Two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft, conducting Air Policing Service, scrambled from the 86th Borcea Air Base to monitor the situation.

According to the radar signals, the aerial target entered the national airspace through the north of Botoșani County.

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of population alert measures in Botoșani and Suceava counties, and a RO-Alert message was issued at 06:26 AM.

Additionally, during the night of September 23 to 24, a group of aerial targets was detected north of Chilia Veche, on the Ukrainian territory, near the border with Romania.

Two Spanish Air and Space Force F-18 aircraft, performing enhanced Air Policing Service, scrambled from the 57th Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base to monitor the situation.

At 04:41 AM, a RO-Alert message was sent to the population in the northern part of Tulcea County.

The air alert for the northern part of Tulcea County ceased at 05:44 AM.
