On Tuesday morning, September 29, the Ministry of National Defence was informed about the discovery of debris of an object, possibly a drone, that had fallen on arable land in Insula Mare a Brăilei, near the locality of Gropeni, Brăila County.

The incident was reported to the authorities during the night, via a 112 emergency call, by a citizen who reported the fall of an object, followed by a fire that went out, causing no casualties or material damage.

Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Romanian Intelligence Service teams arrived at the scene and secured the perimeter, and they are set to investigate the identified fragments.

A specialized MoND team will travel to the site of the incident to investigate the area.

We specify that the radar systems of the Ministry of National Defence did not report any unauthorized penetration into the national airspace over the previous night.
