The ceremony occasioned by the rotation of contingents the 280th Infantry Battalion Focsani and the 281st Infantry Battalion “BOLD EAGLES” Ramnicu Sarat was organized Friday, July 17, 04in the Romanian camp in Kandahar. Major General Cornel Paraniac, commander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command and Colonel Richard Pedersen, commander of the 3rd US BRONCO Brigade were present at this ceremony.

Brigade General Dan Ghica Radu commander of the 282nd Mechanized Brigade “Unirea Principatelor” the two Battalions belong to thanked to the 280th Infantry Battalion for their mission and wished good luck to the 281st Infantry Battalion in their future missions.

“Since the Romanians secure the Kandahar Airport we finally can rest” stressed Col. Pedersen in his speech as the commander of the Romanian forces dislocated in Kandahar also appreciating the professionalism and the seriousness the Romanians have in their missions.

At the end of ceremony there was made the transfer of authority to “Bronco” Operational Force commander. This occasion they offered albums and representative booklets.

The Romanian military transported in the theater of operations by plans of the Romanian Air Force will have to perform according their mandate the following missions: security of Kandahar airport and the responsibility area, Village Team missions, check of vehicles transporting the humanitarian and fuel transports and the check points of traffic.
