The Ministry of National Defence offers support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Following the Romanian Prime Minister’s order, the Ministry of National Defence prepared all its 11 military hospitals from the Medical Directorate’s subordination in order to provide medical assistance and treatment to the injured Ukrainian soldiers.
Also, starting today, 27th February, 12.00, the Medical Directorate’s Transfusion Center which functions within the Central Military Emergency Hospital will be opened for blood donations in the benefit of the injured military personnel. The center will function every day, between 08.00 and 14.00, for all those who want to donate blood for this cause. The donators will be expected within the specified timelines, at the entrance from 134 Plevnei Avenue.
At the same time, following the requests of the Ukrainian Defence Minister, the Romanian Government endorsed a decision, on Sunday, 27th February, which regulates the blood donation in support of the Ukrainian Government under emergency regime, as well as donation of ammunition and ballistic protection equipment provided from the excess of the Romanian Ministry of National Defence.
The value of the ammunition elements and of the 2,000 ballistic protection helmets and 2,000 3rd-4th bulletproof vests that will be donated to the Ukrainian Armed forces amounts to two million Euros.
The equipment transfer is a logistic support element necessary to support Ukraine’s efforts to deter the Russian Federation’s aggression launched against the Ukrainian territory on February 24th.
The transfer of these materials towards the Ukrainian Government is part of the general efforts made by the NATO and EU state members to support Ukraine in defending its own territory, state independence and integrity against the Russian Federation’s aggression.
