Exercises organized by Special Operations Forces
The Special Operations Forces will conduct multinational exercises in the Romanian Armed Forces’ training areas and in the vicinity of Târgu Mureș, Sângiorgiu de Mureș, Reghin, Lunca de Sus, Jigodin, Comãnești, Mangalia, Mihail Kogãlniceanu and Cincu localities, over 2-13 May.
Exercise Trojan Footprint 22 has been planned and coordinated by the Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) and will offer the participating units the opportunity to test and demonstrate “multi-domain”-type tactics, techniques and procedures which involve sets of professional abilities specific to the land, air and naval Special Operations Forces soldiers. Trojan Footprint 22 is simultaneously conducted in Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Romania.
Exercise Junction Strike 22 is the most important multinational and inter-agency exercise, organized and conducted annually by the Special Operations Forces Command (SOFC) of the Romanian Armed Forces, whose goal is to test the training level achieved by the command and execution personnel of the Special Operations Forces’ structures of the SOFC.
Thus, over 700 soldiers, with almost 100 land, aerial and naval pieces of equipment together with 100 foreign soldiers of the allied or partners states (Great Britain, United States of America, Turkey, Hungary) will train for two weeks, based on a fictitious scenario adapted to the potential operational threats, within operative and tactical structures, at multinational and inter-agency levels.
The goal of the exercises is to develop interoperability among the participating structures by planning and executing specific joint missions and operations and harmonizing the working procedures in a multinational environment with the endstate of increasing regional security, especially in the Black Sea area.
