CEREMONY AND COMBINED DEMONSTRATIVE EXERCISE CONDUCTED BY US ARMY EUROPE DEPLOYED TO ROMANIA

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Daniel Petrescu and the Commanding General of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), U.S. Army Major General Joseph McGee, will participate on Saturday, 30 July, starting 15.30, in the US Unit Colors Uncasing Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at the 57th Mihail Kogãlniceanu Air Base, from Constanța County.

On this occasion, the U.S. Army 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) deployed to Romania following the decisions made at the Madrid NATO Summit, will perform a combined demonstration together with the Romanian Armed Force’s 9th Mechanized Brigade “Mãrãșești”. Also, there will be an exhibition featuring a display of the two armies combined military capabilities to include attack helicopters, tanks, amphibious armored personnel carriers, artillery equipment, small arms and machine guns, as well as combat engineering and combat medical equipment.

Also, General Daniel Petrescu and Major General Joseph McGee will hold a joint press conference dedicated to this event, starting at 16.45.
