The General Manager of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency visited Romania
The Chief of the Defence Staff, General Gheorghițã Vlad, met on Monday, June 3rd, at the Ministry of National Defence headquarters, with the General Manager of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), Stacy A. Cummings.
The meeting aimed at increasing NSPA's support offered while running the acquisition programs and providing logistic support to all Romanian Armed Forces operational areas, as well as highlighting the potential of the national defence industry in order to increase cooperation with this agency.
The Chief of Defence Staff emphasized that the continuous running of the Romanian Armed Forces’ acquisition programs with the support of NSPA is a priority of the relevant structures of the Defence Staff. "An important component of the allied deterrence and defence posture is the deployment of credible capabilities to the defensive architecture of the allied eastern flank. The logistic support solutions of the NSPA, which we have used so far, remain a very important way for the coordinated development of the procurement process", General Gheorghițã Vlad stated.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief of the General Directorate for Armaments, Lieutenant General Teodor Incicaș, the Chief of the Medical Directorate, Major General Dragoș-Marian Popescu, representatives of the Operations Directorate, respectively of the Structures and Procurement Planning Directorate of the Defence Staff, Deputy Chiefs for Resources of the Services staffs and the support commands.
