State Secretary Simona Cojocaru’s meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Romania, Anna Hällerman

 

On Wednesday, October 30th, State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, received the visit of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Romania, Anna Hällerman.

During the talks, the officials addressed topics related to the security situation in the Black Sea and Baltic Sea regions, the security implications and threats generated by the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine, cooperation within NATO and the evolution of projects developed within the European Union, as well as the prospects for an increased bilateral defence cooperation.

The Romanian official emphasized the significant contribution made by Sweden to the Euro-Atlantic security with its NATO membership and reiterated the Romanian party’s interest in running joint projects in the field of defence, including the capability coalitions supporting Ukraine.

At the end of the discussions, both parties expressed their commitment to continue and enhance both the political-military dialogue and the practical bilateral cooperation activities for the benefit of the two countries’ armed forces.
