The visit of the Chairman of the Korean Institute for Defence Analysis (KIDA) to the MoND
State Secretary for Defence Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, received today, at the Ministry of National Defence headquarters, the visit of the Chairman of the Korean Institute for Defence Analysis (KIDA), Lieutenant General (ret.) Ph.D. Kim Jung Soo.
The talks focused on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and emphasized the two states' joint commitment to regional and international security. During the meeting, the officials addressed topics of strategic interest, such as the security situation in the Euro-Atlantic space, especially in the Black Sea area, the developments in the Indo-Pacific region and the perspectives of bilateral collaboration in the technical-military and industrial field.
The state secretary highlighted the importance of the Strategic Partnership between Bucharest and Seoul, mentioning its essential contribution to the modernization and development of the Romanian Armed Forces’ capabilities. The importance of the Republic of Korea's relationship with NATO and the European Union as part of a more robust global security architecture has also been emphasized.
The parties agreed on the need to enhance dialogue between research and educational institutions of the Ministry of National Defence, such as the Institute for Defence Policy Studies and Military History, and similar institutions in the Republic of Korea.
Established in 1979, the Korean Institute for Defence Analysis (KIDA) is a government-affiliated research institution of the Republic of Korea recognized for its strategic expertise in defence policy analysis and international military relations.
