Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force paid a visit to Romania

General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force (COMUSAF), paid a visit to Romania over December 19th-20th, 2024, at the invitation of his counterpart, Lieutenant General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi.

The official visit agenda of the American general included a meeting with General Vlad Gheorghiță, Chief of the Defence Staff, meetings with the Chief of Air Force Staff, Lieutenant General Leonard-Gabriel Baraboi, as well as visits to the 90th “ Comandor aviator Gheorghe Bănciulescu" Airlift  Base Otopeni, the Air Component Command and to the Air Force Headquarters.

The talks focused on the consolidation of NATO air force cooperation plans and the enhancement of military relations in the context of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the USA. The visit contributed to the development and consolidation of military cooperation plans between the two air force structures, ensuring high-level representation and the promotion of Romania's interests in the field, and represented an opportunity to elaborate on the cooperation perspectives in the fields of joint training, Air Policing missions, as well as enhanced Vigilance Activities.
