Defence Minister’s meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Romania

Minister of National Defence, Angel Tîlvăr, had an official meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Romania, His Excellency Martin Košatka, on Monday, February 10th.

 During the talks, the officials emphasized common objectives that the two countries share due to their NATO and EU membership, as well as aspects regarding the security situation in the Black Sea region, in the context of the war in Ukraine. The Romanian Minister of Defence pointed out the implications of the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine on the Black Sea region and Romania.

With reference to the bilateral defence cooperation, the Romanian official expressed his openness to identify common interest projects with a view to enhancing defence cooperation, including by capitalizing on initiatives developed at NATO and European Union level.

 At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain an open dialogue and close coordination in order to develop bilateral defence cooperation projects and strengthen security in Europe.
