The Chief of Defence Staff, at the Paris Defence and Strategy Forum

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, is participating in the Paris Defence and Strategy Forum, organized by Ecole Militaire de Paris, over 11-13 March. This year's meeting brings together military leaders, top experts and researchers in the field of security. The forum agenda covers topics related to defence and security architectures and cooperation, regional and geopolitical challenges, as well as capabilities and tools available to the armed forces.

As part of the forum, General Vlad participated in a working meeting organized by his French counterpart, General Thierry Burkhard, in the NATO CHODs format from EU and partner member states, which was also attended by the French President Emmanuel Macron.

The discussions focused on identifying and analyzing solutions and plans to end the war in Ukraine and guarantee a lasting peace.

"We are aware that we all need to do much more for defence, but also that Europe's security is intrinsically linked to Ukraine's security. The Romanian Armed Forces will continue to support the neighboring country, especially in terms of logistics and training, and will continue to join the European efforts made in this respect. At the same time, we will continue to invest in our country's defence capabilities," General Gheorghiță Vlad stated.
